Senior Spotlight

Senior Spotlight  Tara Whitaker has been dancing since she was 3. Her favorite style of dance is tap because of the different rhythms and movements. One memory Tara will never forget is a game played in tap class where a person can’t see and has to guess what movements the other is doing just from listening. It’s hard to tell from only the sounds and allows you to really appreciate tap. After high school, Tara wants to go to Trinity to study Biochemistry and Molecular Biology to become a research scientist.
Tara’s words of wisdom — Be willing to try new things and different styles of dance. Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone!

Senior Spotlight

Senior Spotlight  Aubrey Dowdle has only been dancing for 5 years! Her favorite style is Contemporary because that’s when she’s in her comfort zone. Aubrey’s favorite thing about The Dance Works is the friendly environment and supportive teachers. Her greatest memory is when she made Team the year after she started dancing. Aubrey’s favorite dance she was apart of was “Don’t Disconnect”, a duet she performed with her best friend, Grace. When Aubrey isn’t dancing (which is rare!), she enjoys watching movies and spending time with family, friends, and her dog. After high school, Aubrey wants to go to college (not sure where yet) and is thinking about pursuing a career in nursing. She is looking forward to making lots of memories this year and enjoying her last moments and dances at The DW!
