Hello and Happy New Dance Year!

Hello and Happy New Dance Year!

Waving goodbye to summer and saying hello to a new school year! Classes for our new season began on Monday, August 13 and we are thrilled to see our returning students as well as extending a warm welcome to our new ones. It promises to be an exciting year.

Beautiful new floors have been installed at our Great Oaks studios, and new lighting and theater upgrades were made at Lot4 Production Studio. Make sure you come by to see all the upgrades in both locations, we’re very proud of wonderful facilities. As a reminder, all of our studios are a dance shoe only area, no street shoes may be worn to classes.  Please refer to our policy page for shoe requirements, or feel free to ask us.  We’re happy to assist!

A very warm welcome to our new staff members; Miss Clayton Baker, Miss Cassidy Sainz, Miss Rachel Clear, and Miss Haley Sikes.   Bios and photos are posted on our website, take a peek and help us welcome them into our dance family.

Mark your calendars now!  May 31, 2019 and June 1, 2019 performances dates for our Annual Recital.

Keep the DanceWorks in your social loop and like us on Facebook and Instagram. I’m sure our dancers will help brighten your day from time to time.

We are excited for a wonderful new dance season!  As always; if you have questions or need help, just ask.

Senior Spotlight

Lauren Mancias has been dancing since she was 4 and loves Contemporary because it combines technique with artistic freedom. Her favorite thing about The DanceWorks is the family aspect and how close all the teams are. Miss Michelle and all of the teachers are so approachable and have really been like a second family to her. Lauren’s fondest memory is from Nationals a few years ago when her team won the Grand Slam.

Her words of wisdom for other DW students is to never take any class for granted. Every class is valuable time and you never know in what other areas it might help you. After high school, Lauren plans on attending ACC for 2 years and then transferring to a university. She also wants to continue dancing locally in Austin with a contemporary based company.
